Second day of school

The walk to school takes about 20 minutes and ends with 78 steps up from one street to the street the school is on.  Gabby is navigating her way around Stockholm using 7-11's as landmarks....  to get to school we walk down our street turn right just past the 7-11, turn left at the next 7-11, go up 78 steps and school is on the right.  Of course we're exposing her to and hoping she'll learn some other landmarks in the near future.

Sofia putting on her 'indoor shoes' which she'll take off and put on her outdoor shoes to go outside during the day, then come inside, take off her outdoor shoes and put on her indoor shoes.  At the end of the day she'll take off her indoor shoes and put on her outdoor shoes to come home.  Hope she can keep that straight!!

First Day of School!

Yesterday was the first day of school for the girls.  Gabby had a full day but Audra and Sofia only had to stay for one hour. Sofia's teacher is Ms. Westbom (pronounced Vestbom), Audra's is Ms. Oqvist and Gabby's homeroom teacher is Mr. Rappoccio (I think).

Domestic fowl

Tamhons or tampons?!

Grona Lund swings

Yes, Jan and I went on these swings...  the view of Stockholm is great but it was really cold and windy!  We couldn't look down but Audra and Gabby had no problem!

Belfry

A cool old belfry (who calls them that any more?!) at Skansen.

Grona Lund

Gabby said... finally we get to go somewhere I wanted to go....  Grona Lund is great little amusement park very close to our apartment.  We had a great last day of summer.  School starts tomorrow...

Skansen

Skansen is one of the first open air museums.  They have moved homes and building from different parts and time periods of Sweden to a great location in Stockholm.   While it was a bit too much like a museum for Gabby, the girls had a good time.
