President Obama's visit

President Obama visited Sweden on September 4th for Jan's and my birthday!  The preparations were amazing.  Strandvagen, the 'main drag' along the water was basically blocked off to traffic, street lamps had bulbs replaced and trash cans were removed (Jan noticed this after walking Lucy the night of Sept. 3rd).  For two days traffic was really quiet.  President Obama was on the move when helicopters suddenly filled the air to follow the 50 car entourage.  If the entourage drove along the water police were on jet skis as well.  The police command center was a temporary tent set up in the courtyard in front of the Army Museum filled with vans, motorcycles and horses. 

Parking attendants were vigilant on every corner.  Mounted police on horses with eye-shields and reflective polos on their legs. 

The comments from others:  So you're the reason the traffic is a mess!  So this is a really big day for you!  It's a great day to commit a crime somewhere else!
