Christmas time in Stockholm

Because Sweden is dark and cold and amazingly not particularly snowy... Christmas is a special time filled with traditions, lights and candles....

December 1st - serving up holiday cheer with glögg and pepparkaka on the trams
Everyone celebrates Christmas with a Julbord (special Christmas meal - served at most restaurants)
30 adults from SIS participated in the SS Stockholm's Julbord this year on December 6th - a buffet serving many kinds of pickled herring, salmon, meats, sides and desserts
Advent stars adorn almost every window in Stockholm at this time of year
We smartly went to Gardet for a Christmas tree this year... this year's tree only cost us 500sek vs. 2,000sek last year
Tallulah's favorite spot to hang out during the holidays
Lucia celebrations are everywhere (schools, churches, malls) in the days surrounding December 13th (the official Lucia holiday).  Audra did a great job as Lucia for SIS this year
Christmas lights are turned on around the city with a special celebration at the beginning of December.  Here giant moose walking through Nybroplan in the heart of Stockholm
the big blue Concert House - where the Nobel ceremony takes place on December 10th each year
a very festive hotdog stand
the giant Christmas tree on Gamla Stan
Christmas markets are everywhere around the city in the month of December - warming up with lunch at Skansen Christmas market - trying Julmust (special holiday drink)
